Welcome to LakeXpress, Lake County's public transportation initiative.
The County began the fixed-route transportation service, LakeXpress, in May 2007. The bus service
runs every hour from Lady Lake to Mount Dora with circulator routes in the cities of Leesburg and Mount
Dora.
The fixed-route service is designed to make daily commutes along U.S. Highway 441 hassle free. In years to come, the service will be expanded to other urban areas of the County. A series of public meetings were held during 2006 to help gauge each community's interest regarding the service. These public forums also helped us determine the location of bus stops.
If at any time you would like to submit a comment about the LakeXpress service, please feel free to contact the Lake County Department of Community Services, Public Transportation Division, at (352) 742-6580. For more information regarding routes, scheduling and bus passes, call LakeXpress at (352) 326-8637.
